In the US, the UK and several countries in Europe, including Germany, right wing politics and right wing extremism are growing scaringly in popularity, despite the horrible history of the 20th century with fascism – and the centuries of Antisemitism, Colonialism, and other atrocities before the 20th century.
These politicians and people are a severe threat to democracy, the fight against the climate crisis and to marginalized people, like BI_PoC and the queer (LGBTIAQ+) community.
In order to strenghten mundane measures that you can do to fight these enemies of democracy with a bit of magical activism, here is a short and simple spell which you can repeat as often as you like.
The idea for calling the Fates instead of doing a hex alone is not mine, I have read about this in Sidney Eileen’s blog.1 To be precise, this is a combination of a prayer to the Fates and a hex, because in the spell text, there are several suggestions what should happen to the Nazis and other right wing enemies of democracy.
What you need:
A candle (or a candle in a jar). If possible, a red or black one (for some additional color magic). In case these are not available for you, a plain white one will do.
A piece of paper and a pen or a tool for carving
Optional: some incense
Preparation:
You can create a sigil for this ritual and either carve it into the candle or glue a piece of paper with the sigil on it on the jar. If you use the sigil method with letters of the alphabet you could choose a simple phrase like FATES HEX NAZIS.2
If you work with runes, choose some which are appropiate for this ritual and create a bind rune. I have three suggestions for that at the end of this blog. I would avoid the runes which have been or are still abused by Nazis. Either carve the bind rune into the candle or glue a piece of paper with the sigil on it on the jar.
Get yourself in the mood for some magic with your preferred method, for instance some minutes of meditation, a breathing or grounding exercise, some chanting or whatever works best for you or your group/coven. When you are ready ...
The spellwork
Light the incense (optional).
Light the candle.
Now, let’s call the Fates with this. If you do this with a group, take turns to recite this.
I am calling the Fates
To hex the Nazis and White Supremacists
The Fascists and Right Wing Extremists
May they not suceed in getting many votes.
Oh great Fates, I beg you
May these enemies of Democracy
Fail in everything they do.
May their plans crumble to dust.
May they be unable to sleep at night
And may their days be filled with problems.
Oh great Fates,
Please give these enemies what they deserve.
May their hate be met with counteraction.
May their lies and deceit be not heard.
May they fight with their own more than against Democracy.
Und thus destroy their own groups.
May they be unable to govern.
Oh great Fates, I trust in You
To take care of this matter
So that it will be better
For the righteous people and Democracy.
Close your ritual by thanking the Fates. You do not have to let the candle burn down in one session. Let it burn for a while, maybe as long as the incense lasts, or longer. Please think of fire safety, as always when using fire/flames in rituals.
As I already mentioned, you can repeat this ritual as often as you like, so it may take a while until the candle burns down.
More options:
If you feel so inclined, you can also use oil to dress the candle and roll it in some dried herbs with magical correspondences which fit this ritual.
If you like to use planetary magic and consider the days of the week, Tuesdays (associated with Mars) and Thursdays (associated with Jupiter) are good choices for this spell. These days are linked to topics like taking action against enemies (Mars) and justice/good government (Jupiter).
You can also use War Water. 3

I have looked up the meaning of the runes in the German edition of “Germanische Magie”/(”Germanic Magic”) by Gunivortus Goos, and have translated the key words into English.
